Apparently when Azealia Banks isn’t busy making music or — and this is a real thing — sacrificing chickens in her closet to practice witchcraft, she’s busy growing out her nether-beard. The New York City born rapper and actress recently posted a picture on Instagram wherein she’s rocking a full bush and looking proud as hell of it.
The picture is an outtake from the photoshoot for her most recent album.

The picture (and bush) was inspired by Banks’ mother who apparently used to walk around the house naked, confidently rocking a “70’s roller skate bush” and singing Chaka Khan and Whitney Houston at the top of her lungs. “I wrote most of this song in the same fashion,” says Banks. “Walking around the house doing my chores and growing out my 1970’s roller skate bush.”
As you can expect, the reaction was mixed. Some applauded her confidence and body-positivity, while others decided that the sight of a woman’s pubic hair was just about all their little hearts could take.
One thing is for sure though, with stars like Amber Rose and now Azealia Banks showing off their pubes, the return of the bush is in full effect whether you like it or not. If you like it, it’s a good time to be alive. If you don’t like it, it’s a good time to shut up and keep your opinions about what a woman should do with her body to yourself.
