Growing up with a strict mom is annoying sometimes, but as you get older, you learn to appreciate how much she loved and cared about you. Yet, when you’re young – it’s the most obnoxious thing in the entire world. Trust me, my mom used to be the mom who would want to “call the parents” when we’d go to anyone’s house *rolls eyes.* And, when I got caught lying, I’d be in huge trouble.
A lot of teenage girls know my pain. But, 18-year-old Kaelyn Demmon seems to suffer way more than I did, because she’s growing up as a teen in the age of smartphones. Lucky for me, phones were just coming out when I was a teenager and we were settling for those ugly Nokia Razr phones in hot pink or a Nokia so we can *bleep bleep* someone on the walkie talkie. iPhones weren’t even on our radar yet.
But, now that they are, it’s super hard to get away with anything anymore. Just ask Kaelyn – her mom Heather is way more strict than my mom ever was. According to Kaelyn, her mom will ask for “photo evidence” of where she is sometimes. She was recently at her best friend Stevie’s house watching a movie when her mom asked her for a “picture for proof.” You know how your friends say “pics or it didn’t happen” – it’s basically the same thing.
Apparently, Kaelyn’s mom has caught her lying a few times when she said she was at Stevie’s and was secretly somewhere else. And, any girl knows once you break your mom’s trust – it takes forever to build it back up.
Honestly – if iPhones were around during my time – my mom would do the same thing. And, girls on Twitter were relating to this like no other.
I think it's safe to say my mom doesn't trust me pic.twitter.com/67fUqUBUpI
