This week, Snapchat announced they had an awesome new update that featured some really dope new things for users. Included in the usual bug fixes and usually new fonts and color formats now includes something that they are introducing as – the Snap Map.
Snap Map allows you to not only see what your friends are doing, but exactly where they are doing it. It’s basically like dropping a pin on the iPhone, but dropping your Snapchat photo or video there. The app uses Actionmojis – which are basically exactly like Bitmojis – and it will appear on a map, exactly where your friends are.
However, it’s only if they choose to be featured on the map. Here’s how it works:
If you want to share your video or photo to your story on Snapchat, you usually just click “My Story.” But, if you want it to appear on the Snap Map, you have to also click “Our Story.” By doing so, your video or photo will appear on your friends’ and followers’ map.
If you don’t want to appear on any maps, at all, ever – it’s simple. Just make yourself go “ghost.” You can also select only a few friends to see your location, too.
The cool part about Snap Map is that you can see any major stories happening in major newsworthy places. Snapchat will “feature” newsworthy events and coverage on the Snap Map like blow.
Honestly – this is pretty f*cking cool.
