The iPhone 8 Is Apparently Going To Be Waterproof, Finally

Clumsy people, rejoice.

Apple is one tech company that is always keeping their customers on their toes. Every year, we are on the edge of our seats waiting anxiously to see what the “newest version” of their products will look like.

After the release of the iPhone 7 with a better screen, battery and camera, people are questioning just how Apple will be able to one-up their last release with the iPhone 8.

Rumors have been flying around the Internet that the look of the iPhone is going to change completely. Numerous outlets have reported that the phone will be sleeker in design – slimming down the old version. As well, the home button may move or completely disappear – giving us a complete touch-screen version of our phones.

As well, wireless charging will become a norm – so you don’t have to worry about your charger breaking at the ends any longer.

But, the newest revelation to come out of the Apple-rumor mill is what everyone has been waiting for – a waterproof iPhone. Robert Hwang, the CEO of Wistron (an Apple manufacturing company) leaked the good news when speaking to reporters at a meeting for shareholders.

“Assembly process for the previous generations of [iPhones] have not changed much, though new features like waterproof and wireless charging now require some different testing, and waterproof function will alter the assembly process a bit.”

So, have no fear my clumsy friends, you may not need to put your phone in rice overnight any longer. But, be careful with how bad you soak your cell – iPhones can only handle so much water, according to reports. You can’t go swimming with your phone in hand – it may actually still fry. But, if you spill your beer on it at the bar, you won’t have to worry as much.
