You Definitely Missed This Huge Hint At The Cleganebowl In This Week’s ‘Game Of Thrones’

For seasons—and I mean seasons—fans have been anxiously waiting for the Cleganebowl to take place. For those who decided to just randomly watch Season 8 of Game of Thrones (although, I don’t know why the hell you would do that and honestly, you should be consumed by dragon fire), the Cleganebowl is a huge fight between Sandor and Gregor Clegane—aka The Mountain and The Hound—which has been shaping up to happen since Season 1.

In Season 1, fans saw a bit of fighting between Sandor and Gregor, but it was short and brief.

We learned later on throughout the show that Gregor shoved Sandor’s face into a fire when they were kids because he played with a toy that didn’t belong to him. It burned his face completely and made him entirely terrified of fire. Gregor was later named a Ser in King’s Landing and Sandor became King Joffrey’s personal bodyguard.

Seasons later, Sandor leaves King’s Landing to march with the Brotherhood without Banners and Gregor becomes Cersei’s killing machine. The two met face-to-face in Season 7 when Daenerys and Jon brought everyone together at King’s Landing for a meeting about The Long Night and the battle againstthe Night King. There, Sandor threatened Gregor—hinting at a life-ending fight between the two of them.

In Episode 4 of Season 8, Game of Thrones writers gave us yet another clue that the Bowl of all Bowls is headed our way in the remaining two episodes. When speaking with Sansa Stark, the two discussed how far they had both come since meeting each other at King’s Landing in Season 1. Sansa mocked Sandor for not taking the girl up on her offer to go to bed with him—and, Sandor said there is only one thing that would make him happy.

Later in the episode, he is seen on horseback, riding to King’s Landing with his favorite travel partner—Arya Stark—by his side. He told Arya he has some “unfinished business” in King’s Landing. He also makes a comment to her that he has “no plans” to return to the North. This could be because he anticipates he may die in the fight between him and his brother.

With the Battle of Winterfell happening already—probably the most eventful and action-packed episode—fans are waiting to see what crazy battles/fights the producers and writers left for us in the final two episodes. Many have a strong feeling it’s all leading up to the Cleganebowl.

Here’s to hoping the writer’s don’t disappoint. Also, I’m team Sandor all the way, baby!
