When you’re in college, you sometimes have some really sh*tty professors. For instance, I had a horrible, horrible professor once who would not excuse me from class when my sister was giving birth to my nephew at the hospital – grimey and heartless. Some college professors just seem to not understand that students are humans, too, and have outside responsibilities that may, once in a while, get in the way of our attendance in class.
Like, single parents who are trying to do right for their children and get a college education, regardless if they need to stay up all night studying. I have been in several classes with single parents and I applaud their ambition and efforts, always.
One college student at the University of Tennessee is exactly the type of brave, driven and respectable woman that we should all admire.
21-year-old Morgan King is studying therapeutic care there, but, also has a 3-month-old baby at home. Her daughter, Korbyn, is usually taken care of by her grandparents while she is in class, but, she unfortunately could not find childcare for a few days earlier this month and was forced to miss class.
After explaining to her professor what happened, her professor responded in the most incredible way possible – by telling King to next time, bring Korbyn to class.
Told my professor I missed class yesterday bc I couldn't find childcare & this was her response. I'm literally crying. So blessed/thankful😩😭 pic.twitter.com/3QaThJRXdo

According to Morgan, the professor who had sent her the email had been in her shoes – when she was working towards her PHD. Her professor then had given her the same option, to bring her child to class. She thought it was only right to pay it forward.
I wish I had professors who were this understanding while I was in college. God bless.
